Literacy class in Pasgoda area
Early 2001, SVS started to support a literacy class in the Pasgoda area where we have connections through preschool activities. There were 12 children who we learned weren't involved in formal schooling in the beginning; however, the number of children grew day by day as the children and their parents learned about this class. Finally, the class grew to include 23 children. Their ages are from 6 to 14. In the Pasgoda area there are 7 other literacy classes operating. These class combined and held a concert on World Literacy Day. It was quite an impressive event. All the children practiced well and performed wonderful dramas, songs and dances. Parents came with their children to the events and they understood how talented their children were. The children are very excited about being in classes.
